Letter : Fort Cumberland, Pa., to Robert Hunter Morris, 1755 July 18.

A detailed account of the defeat of Braddock's expedition and its aftermath. Names a number of the officers killed and wounded, and commends the conduct of George Washington (referred to as "Majr. Washing"). Appended is an extract from a letter from a Maj. Rutherford giving an estimate of the casualties. Because Orme himself was seriously wounded, the letter is in the hand of Capt. Robert Dobson.
